Zolaviri sells through zolaviri.shop, a store built on Shopify. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, order or contact us, why we need it, who we work with, and the choices you have. It covers this store and the messages we send you about your orders.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Zolaviri is the store you are shopping with at zolaviri.shop. Our business address is 1 Molyneux Drive, Wallasey, CH45 1JS, United Kingdom, and you can reach us about anything in this policy at vaughan@zolaviri.shop.
We sell to customers in North America, Europe and Australia. This policy describes the information we handle ourselves. The platform and service providers we rely on also handle information in their own right, which is explained where it is relevant below.
What we collect and where it comes from
We keep the information we collect close to the reason we need it. In practice it falls into three groups.
Information you give us
- Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and billing or delivery address.
- Order details, including what you bought, returns or refund requests, and the messages you send us when you need help.
- Account details, if you choose to create an account on the store.
- Anything else you choose to send us, such as a form submission, a review, a survey answer or a marketing preference.
Order and payment information
When you place an order we create a record of it: the items, the amount, the payment status, the delivery details and the transaction history. Payment is completed through the payment providers available at checkout, and your card or account details are entered into their systems rather than stored by this store. We receive confirmation that a payment has been made or declined, along with limited details such as the type of payment method used.
Information collected automatically
As you browse, the store and the technology running it generate technical information: your IP address, device and browser type, the page you arrived from, the pages and products you view, your searches, and how you interact with the cart and checkout. Some of this is needed to keep the store working and to prevent fraud; some helps us understand how the store is being used. Cookie and similar identifiers are part of this, and are covered in their own section below.
Where this information comes from
Most of it comes from you directly, or is created automatically as you use the store. Some arrives from the providers involved in your order — for example a payment provider confirming that a payment succeeded or failed, a delivery partner passing back a delivery or address update, or Shopify as the platform that hosts and operates the store.
How we use your information
Some uses are part of fulfilling your order and keeping the store safe. Others are optional, and we only carry them out where we are allowed to or where you have agreed.
To run your order and the store, we use information to:
- take payment, confirm your order and arrange delivery
- handle returns, refunds and any problem with an order
- answer your questions and provide customer support
- keep your account and order history available, where you have an account
- keep the store working, secure and available, and detect or prevent fraud and misuse
- meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations, and handle complaints or disputes
Where you have agreed, or where the law allows it, we also use information to send you marketing messages and to understand how the store is used so we can improve our pages, our range and the checkout. You can withdraw your agreement at any time, and doing so does not affect orders you have already placed.
When we share information
We share personal information only where it is needed to run the store, where you have asked us to, or where the law requires it. That includes:
- Shopify, as the platform that hosts and operates the store.
- Payment providers that process your payment at checkout.
- Delivery partners that carry your order to the address you give us.
- Providers whose services we use to operate the store and support customers, limited to what they need to carry out their task.
- Authorities, courts or professional advisers where a valid legal request is made, or where sharing is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
If our business or part of it is ever transferred, information may pass to the buyer as part of that transfer, and we will continue to treat it in line with this policy.
Shopify's own role
Shopify provides the platform this store runs on and also handles personal information under its own privacy policy, alongside the handling it does on our behalf. You can read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for the detail of Shopify's own practices. That policy describes Shopify's responsibilities; it does not replace ours for the information we collect as the store.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, help the store function and help us understand it. They are used for four broad purposes:
- Running and securing the store — remembering what is in your cart, keeping you signed in, and supporting checkout and fraud prevention.
- Remembering your preferences — such as your region, currency or language choice.
- Understanding how the store is used — seeing which pages work well and where customers run into difficulty.
- Marketing — where this is enabled and you have agreed to it, measuring campaigns and showing relevant messages.
Not every category is necessarily in use at any given time, but the essential ones are: the store cannot take an order without them. Where non-essential cookies are used, you can accept or decline them in the cookie banner or privacy preferences on the store, and change your mind later. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies can stop the cart, sign-in or checkout from working properly.
Turning cookies off in your browser does not stop every form of tracking, and we do not control technologies that other parties may use independently of our store.
Shopify's general use of cookies is described in the Shopify Cookie Policy. That page explains Shopify's practices across its platform; it does not list any apps, pixels or third-party technologies added to this store ourselves.
Keeping and protecting your information
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above: completing your order, handling a return, refund or complaint, keeping the business records we are required to keep, and resolving disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove the details that identify you. Different records are kept for different periods depending on what they are used for and what the law requires, so we do not apply a single retention period to everything.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical, organisational and administrative measures that suit the size of our business and the information we handle. Access to personal information is limited to the people and providers who need it for their task, and we expect providers who handle information for us to protect it as well. No method of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed, altered or lost. If you ever suspect that an interaction with us is no longer secure, please tell us straight away.
Your choices and your rights
Depending on where you live and on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete information, or to stop or limit how we use it
- object to certain uses, or withdraw consent you have given
- ask for information you provided to us in a portable format
These rights are not unconditional. They depend on your location and on our legal and operational obligations, and some information may be exempt or kept for longer. To make a request, email vaughan@zolaviri.shop with enough detail for us to understand what you are asking for. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act, so that we do not disclose someone else's information.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing stops marketing messages but not messages about an order you have placed. Non-essential cookies can be managed through the cookie banner or privacy preferences on the store.
Where your information may be processed
We sell to customers in North America, Europe and Australia, and we use the Shopify platform and other providers that operate across borders. Your information may therefore be processed in a country other than the one you are shopping from, and may be subject to that country's laws. Wherever it is handled, we expect it to be protected in the way this policy describes.
Children's privacy
Our store is intended for adults shopping for themselves or on behalf of someone else, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at vaughan@zolaviri.shop and we will look into it and delete the information where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the store, the services we use or the law changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies, so please check back when you want to confirm how we handle information. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
